The recent signing of a partnership between Moviatech and Téréga solutions at Le Connecteur gives a boost to an innovative tool that addresses the current problems of air pollution linked to individual vehicles.
The young subsidiary of the Lojelis group became independent last April. Since then, Moviatech has signed a number of promising partnerships aimed at transforming the field of mobility. Mobinow, their digital solution for sharing and managing corporate fleets, tackles the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the transport sector (the2nd[i] biggest emitter). How can this application reduce a company’s carbon footprint? What are the next steps in Moviatech’s development? Find out in our article.
A committed group, company and brand
Let’s take a quick look at how the concept of corporate engagement has evolved. Not so long ago, companies were exclusively focused on their bottom line. They limited themselves to offsetting the environmental and societal impacts of their actions through sponsorship or philanthropy.
Then a transition took place and we moved towards more responsible business. A few isolated actions emerged within groups, tinged with sustainable development and inclusion. Today, we are witnessing the emergence of cause-driven companies whose raison d’être and strategy are based on the idea of building a better world.
From Clermont-Ferrand to Biarritz via Atlanta
Moviatech is clearly part of this new wave of companies. Behind its creation is a French group, Lojelis, whose slogan “Tech and human innovation” sums up its vision. Its founder, Sylvain Jourdy, has set himself the mission of developing useful solutions that benefit both people and the environment.
The Lojelis group was founded over 15 years ago in Clermont-Ferrand, in the heart of the Auvergne volcanoes. It has maintained a strong presence here, while expanding throughout France and internationally. Today, some 200 employees work in France, Switzerland and the United States.
An application to decarbonize the transport sector
The concept behind the Mobinow application developed by Moviatech is toimprove the carbon footprint of vehicles in a company fleet, by optimizing their utilization rate, enabling them to be shared with other companies and managing the energy mix. Thermal, electric, gas or hydrogen, all energies are covered. For Moviatech, hydrogen represents a mobility of the future on which to capitalize.
Did you know? Purchases of new company vehicles account for around 50% of total sales. [ii]sales.
Moviatech has made Biarritz its home in Le Connecteur’s closed coworking space, and not just for its pleasant surroundings. The company praises the presence of “an active, innovative local ecosystem focused on hydrogen solutions”. It is in the heart of this unique regional entrepreneurial complex that a new page in the company’s development was recently turned.
At the IO-BASE Day at Le Connecteur, Moviatech and Téréga solutions met and agreed on a key partnership for the development of hydrogen-powered mobility.
Moviatech’s mission is to promote sustainable, inclusive mobility in regions where private transport is the only option. But the company has no intention of stopping there. Its Mobinow application will soon be upgraded to include a module for optimizing journeys made in hydrogen-powered vehicles and removing the constraints associated with their use. And that’s where the partnership between Moviatech and Téréga comes in.
A partnership to develop the use of hydrogen in transport
The Téréga group manages energy infrastructures in Europe. Its subsidiary Téréga solutions, based in Pau, supports companies in the decarbonization of their activities. Hydrogen mobility is therefore a major focus of its strategy. Téréga’s Iobase solution enables data exchange between hydrogen refueling stations and the Mobinow application. No more worrying about running out of fuel or waiting too long at stations. Our projects are growing in scale and taking shape day by day, thanks to our passionate teams.
Research for sustainable mobility
Moviatech has a unique philosophy for accelerating the adoption of sustainable mobility. Understanding users, their obstacles and their needs is the cornerstone of the development process. The company draws on the expertise of a social and behavioral psychologist and researchers in Artificial Intelligence, blockchain and big data. The result is easy-to-use interfaces and greater transparency on the GHG emissions of tomorrow’s entire transport ecosystem.
Companies like Moviatech demonstrate that it’s possible to do business and innovate while positively shaping the world. It also gives a positive, non-binding image of hydrogen mobility. By immersing itself in a high-quality ecosystem, the company has succeeded in giving new scope to its Mobinow tool by integrating tomorrow’s mobility.
